Transworld Park Sessions Visits Copper

Via Transworld Snowboarding: The first TransWorld Park Sessions of the season just wrapped up at Copper Mountain, Colorado. Not only was Copper’s park littered with features, it was doused in a thick layer of pow during the shoot. That kept the park laps and pow laps going at the same time with our transplant crew. The likes of Alex AndrewsBen BilodeauBlaze Kotsenburg,Brandon HammidDylan ThompsonGriffin SiebertJonah Owen and Sean Black all rolled into town to tear up the terrain. From close-out rails and re-directs to creeper ledges and a massive butter box–the creative shred builds at Copper stood out, replicating many an urban scene. Follow cam laps, flashes, jibs and jumps were all popping in the park and after the session came to a close, it opened right back up with an aerial assault on the trampolines, foam pit and skatepark of Woodward at Copper. Enough teasing, here’s a lil’ preview of what went down during the week. Stay tuned for full Park Sessions video coming Fall 2012.

New Face to the Woodward Park Crew

Woodward at Copper has hired a new terrain park manager, Jason George, who is redesigning the look, layout and design of all our terrain parks.  Haven't heard of Jason? You might have seen some of his work recently on the cover of Snowboarder Magazine in their Jan. 2012 Super Park edition! The builders include a group of fine men from Boreal, Killington and Copper.

But none the less it was one of the sickest set-ups there, in our opinion of course.

Honorable Mentions

-For the third year in a row, TransWorld Snowboarding named Copper ‘Top Ten Pipes’ in North America in the 2011 Resort Poll.

-Ski Magazine has rated Copper #7 in Best Parks

-Pat Moore Red Bull Quarter Pipe build- Pat Moore sought out to break the world snowboard height record of 32.15 ft. To try to break this record our park crews and red bull built one of the tallest walls in North America today at 35 feet tall and 100 feet wide. Though he didn't break the record, our park crews did a stellar job!

-Westword Magazine (colorado based) in their "Best of" edition gave "Best Place to learn double cork 1260's" and "Best Superpipe" to Copper

-Colorado Ski Authority put Woodward at Copper terrain parks as #2 on their Top Terrain Parks
